I'm Rochelle. I’m a generational medium, a spirit communication educator, and the founder of Brown Bruha.
I grew up on O‘ahu in the Kingdom of Hawai‘i in a Catholic, superstitious, Ilokano and Japanese household. When it came to spirits, all I was taught was to fear them and leave them alone.
But starting in 2012 when my mom died, the spirit realm started reaching out to me. In 2016, my dad transitioned. In 2018, I met my spirit guide in my bathroom, which was absolutely terrifying at the time (even though looking back now I realize I was safe!).
Through guidance, personal studies and experimentation, I learned how to accurately and safely communicate with the spirit realm and how to tune into other living beings’ energies. I felt the push to share what I had learned with others, and that is how Brown Bruha was born.
Since 2019, I have helped hundreds of folks access clarity, relief, support, and guidance from the spirit realm, and Brown Bruha has expanded from readings to also include classes, memberships, workshops, and mentorship.

Unless we have already met, I can’t say for sure—but for me, my spirit communication practice keeps me safe in the spiritual realm.
I overcame my fear from my religious and superstitious upbringing through experimenting with spirit communication. I don’t freak out anymore when my spirit guide visits me; in fact, I really look forward to her visits now because they are so special.
When other spirits come through, I know how to identify them and their intentions. I also now know how to set boundaries with the spirit realm and to get unwanted entities to leave in the rare event that they try to mess with me. I have even been able to reconnect with my parents and start healing our relationship.
My spirit communication practice also grounds me and helps me navigate the material.
I worry way less about money, relationships, career, and my loved ones, because I can always check in with my spirit team to make sure I am doing what I’m supposed to.
It was their encouragement and reassurance (plus my work here in the material, of course) that helped me feel safe enough to transition out of my lawyer job and into running Brown Bruha full-time.
